Full Job Description

What we’re looking for:

*Provide excellent, one-on-one music education with young students and adults

*Ability to teach beginner to advanced, young and old students. Comfortable around kids and teens.

*Music teaching experience and/or a music degree are preferred but we are willing to consider musicians without a degree as long as they possess sufficient skills and demonstrate potential to be excellent teachers

*Knowledge of various contemporary and traditional styles with strong reading skills.

*Looking for people with outgoing and engaging personalities, a strong performance background, and the ability to connect with kids and families to offer a fun and non-stressful music experience.

What does it look like to be professional at our business:

*Present themselves in a PG manner with clear boundaries towards students and families

*Must read and answer texts/emails/calls within 1 business day.

*Diligent communication with students and their families about cancellations, rescheduling, progress reports, upcoming events and general follow up

*Punctuality is necessary to welcome students into the lesson rooms after preparing your space for the time together.

*Problem-solving with families schedules as well as what the student needs that day

*Be willing to troubleshoot problems

*Vibrant, warm personality, energetic and a positive attitude

*Keep track of appointments and fill out monthly statements in a timely manner

What does it look like to be a good teacher at our school:

*Help your students foster a love of playing music

*Present lessons comprehensively and use visual/audio means to facilitate learning

*Provide individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning

*Create and assign meaningful homework (notes, summaries, assignments, etc.)

*Determining student goals and objectives, and discussing lesson details with them before committing to a plan

*Structuring individual lessons based on client preferences and goals

*Providing students with appropriate materials and resources

*Showing up on time for scheduled practice sessions, recitals, competitions, and other events

*Preparing students for recitals, concerts, and other events

*Motivating students, especially when they are struggling and progress is slow

*Providing constructive feedback and adjusting lessons as required

*Assess and record students’ progress and provide grades and feedback

*To be a successful music teacher, you should demonstrate excellent instructional skills and patience. Outstanding candidates are lifelong learners who are always improving their skills and are unafraid to experiment with technology.
Important Information:

This is a contract job. You set your rates with your students and families.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $30.00 – $60.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Experience:

  • Music Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)

Work Location: One location
