VISITING MUSIC TEACHER (VMT) – GUITAR

To work on a self-employed basis, invoicing parents directly each term. Rates of pay are reviewed annually with the current academic year’s figure set at £35 per hour and we anticipate being able to offer approximately 3 hours of work initially.

Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School is looking to appoint an experienced, highly skilled and enthusiastic musician to join the Music Department as a self-employed teacher of Guitar. A track record of success with students in the 11-18 age range is welcome, as is experience teaching across a range of styles. Flexibility with regards blended learning, combining both online and in-person tuition where necessary would also be a distinct advantage.

Music at Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School is currently enjoying a renaissance after the difficulties of the pandemic over the past couple of years. We are rebuilding our thriving programme of music-making which caters to all ages and abilities of students, with performances in classical, jazz and pop styles valued and nurtured. Students who take individual music lessons are expected to join in school ensembles appropriate to their ability as well as encouraged to form their own informal groups and bands.

Shortlisted applicants will have an interview and be asked to give a demonstration lesson to a pupil provided by the Music Department.
