Teacher of Music 2iC – Second in Charge

City of London Academy Highbury Grove

The City of London Academy Highbury Grove is looking for an exceptional Teacher of Music to join our highly skilled, successful and supportive Music Department as second in charge within the department. The post offers opportunities to teach at all levels and to engage with an active and vibrant enrichment programme comprising a number of different musical ensembles and performance opportunities. As the second in charge, you will take responsibility for a Key Stage and assist our Curriculum Leader – Music in managing the department. You will need strong organisational and interpersonal skills that promote high quality teaching.

We are supported by the Music in Secondary Schools Trust (MiSST); which helps to afford every student in Years 7-9 the opportunity to learn an orchestral instrument in a classroom setting. In addition to this a large number of students have individual instrumental lessons and are a part of our varied performance calendar. We have over 700 instruments which are loaned out to students.
