POSITION: Dance Instructor. 60% FTE Instructional Academic Staff Position in the Department of Music and Theatre Arts in the Lecturer title series beginning August 22, 2022. This is a one-year renewable appointment with salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS: MFA in Dance or equivalent experience required. The following will be considered assets: evidence of successful teaching at the collegiate level; demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.

DUTIES: Duties and responsibilities include teaching Dance Appreciation, Ballet, Modern Dance, Tap, and Jazz, and directing Dance Performance Practicum. Other responsibilities could be assigned according to departmental need.

DEPARTMENT: The Department of Music and Theatre Arts serves approximately 90 majors and minors in undergraduate programs in theatre and musical theatre and 40 dance certificate students. The Department also serves approximately 350 music majors and minors and is supported by 30 full-time and 11 part-time faculty, specifically 6 full-time faculty in theatre and dance. The Dance Program is housed in both the Pablo Center for Performing Arts which includes a 1200-seat theatre, a flexible 400-seat theatre, rehearsal and community rooms, labs for sound and lighting, set and exhibit design, recording arts, multimedia production and costume design and the Haas Fine Arts Center which includes the dance studio. The department is highly regarded in the state and region, and our faculty are well known for the quality of their performances and for their innovative teaching.
