POSITION: Applied Saxophone Studio Teacher. Expertise in Classical tradition required. 45% FTE Instructional Academic Staff position in the Department of Music and Theatre Arts in the Lecturer title series beginning August 22, 2022. This is a one-year renewable appointment with salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
QUALIFICATIONS: Masters required; Doctorate preferred. The following will be considered assets: evidence of successful teaching at the collegiate level; demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.
DUTIES: Duties and responsibilities include teaching applied saxophone as assigned, which includes teaching an active studio class, coach and administer a saxophone chamber music program, participate in the broader chamber music program as needed. Other responsibilities could be assigned according to department need.
THE UNIT: The Department of Music and Theatre Arts serves approximately 400 majors and minors supported by 31 full-time and 7 part-time faculty. The department faculty are highly regarded in the state and region and enrich the Eau Claire community while providing outstanding academic opportunities. Our faculty are well known for the quality of their performances and for their innovative teaching. Academic programs include the BM degree in performance and composition; the BME degree in instrumental and choral music education; the BA and BS degrees in music.
