Job Description:

Position Purpose: The Music Director will oversee the Gold Creek’s music directing and coaching with the purpose of leading the congregation and students in meaningful worship experiences.


Job Description:

Adult Services:

  • Make sure resources are prepared and posted for weekly services including:
  • Posting original MP3
  • Chord Charts
  • Practice tracks
  • Send setlist email reminder to the team
  • Build song arrangements in and create tracks setlist using Ableton
  • Update planning center daily with the necessary changes
  • Verify lyrics in pro presenter are accurate with the Ableton arrangements
  • Setup stage for rehearsal and Sunday mornings
  • After rehearsal upload recording of rehearsal and email team
  • Actively recruit for the worship team
  • Attend mid-week rehearsal
  • Direct the band Sunday mornings during our worship services

Encounter Student Services (High School and Middle School):

  • Lead weekly Encounter High School rehearsals
  • Load lyrics and and any media to ProPresenter for all Encounter services
  • Coach vocalists/musicians/sound/tech
  • Make sure Middle School live stream is ready for 10:30 service
  • Lead/Play for Encounter services and minister to Encounter students
  • Weekly set up high school live stream
  • Weekly one-on-one’s with worship pastor and one-on-one with students to help develop their gifts and talents
  • Actively recruit students for worship/tech

Personal Responsibilities
  • You are a highly knowledgeable and self-motivated
  • You love God, His church and working with people
  • You are awesome at recruiting, developing, shepherding and training a strong volunteer team
  • You recognize that we couldn’t do what God has called us to without faithful volunteers

A few must-haves
  • Proficient with at least one instrument
  • Experience with Ableton Live
  • Experience in developing and coaching volunteers
  • Experience with ProPresenter
  • Experience with Planning Center Online
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems quickly and effectively
  • A heart for worship and a heart for excellence

Other Helpful Skills:
  • Strong desire to learn, grow and contribute in all aspects of worship
  • Willingness to work as a team
  • Strong communication skills
