Audio Visual Technician

The role of the technician is to provide a broad range of audio-visual expertise and support for University staff, NHSG staff and external clients. This will include checking, monitoring and first line maintenance of AV and IT equipment at University sites as required. This will include providing support to staff and students, both to installed equipment on campus and online collaboration tools.

You will be an enthusiastic AV/IT professional, keen to develop your own skill set and career in a fast-paced AV/IT Department. You will have experience of AV system build and deployment.

You will have an HNC or equivalent qualification. You will also have a good AV/IT related background and have set up and installed AV systems.

You will have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with experience of dealing with people in a front-line customer care environment.

You will be able to work alone or as part of a team and be flexible in terms of working hours. Occasional evening and weekend working will be required to meet operational requirements.

The role involves occasional manual handling and lifting and occasional working at height. PASMA certification will be required, however this training can be provided. You will be required to drive a university vehicle as part of the job.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the grade 4, £23,487 – £27,116 per annum and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.

Due to the nature of the requirements of this post, homeworking is not considered appropriate.
